UCF Fellows of the Academy for Teaching, Learning and Leadership

Each year, UCF Fellows of the Academy, representing the Colleges of the University of Central Florida, work together to conceptualize, design and implement individual and collaborative research projects. This work aligns with the University of Central Florida’s 2003-2007 Pathways to Prominence Strategic Plan’s eighth initiative to expand partnerships with schools that will benefit both the university and PreK – 20 education in the central Florida metropolitan area.

Overview
The UCF Fellows of the Academy program is a faculty-centered initiative which provides opportunities for all of the University of Central Florida’s colleges to engage in K-20 public education research projects.  As the University of Central Florida becomes a great metropolitan research university, the UCF Academy has received funding from Provost Hickey and the Office of Academic Affairs to continue to support this intercollegiate research project initiated in 2002.  This research opportunity reflects the University of Central Florida’s Strategic Direction which promotes interdisciplinarity, fosters learning communities; and achievement of operational excellence.

Goals
  • Provide a unique opportunity to develop an interdisciplinary approach to educational inquiry and metropolitan research within the UCF Academy for Teaching, Learning and Leadership.
  • Offer/receive support that results in the publication of a number of high quality studies in the public education area, representing the expertise of Arts and Sciences, Business Administration, Education, Engineering and Computer Science, and Health and Public Affairs.
